Dixon Rams 2nd
Annual 7 on 7 Passing League Tournament
Rules and Game
Set Up
Rules:
1.
All Players Must Wear
Helmets while on the Field
2.
The game will start
with a coin flip, with the winning team choosing if they want to
start on offense or defense. Whichever team starts on defense will
start on offense in the second half, and vice versa.
3.
Each game will consist
of two 15 minute running clock halves, with a 5 minute half time.
4.
In the last 2 minutes
of the game (in elimination Play) the clock will stop on
a.
incomplete passes
b.
passes caught and the
player getting out of bounds
c.
turnovers
5.
The offensive team will
start on the 40 yard line and have 3 plays to get a first down.
Teams have 4 plays to score from inside the 10 yard line. If they do
not get a first down, then the defensive team takes over on offense.
6.
We are playing “solid”
one-hand touch games, meaning that if a defensive player’s
fingertips touch the receiver, but there is no way that a tackle
could have been made, then the play will continue. It is up to the
referee’s discretion to make a call of when a receiver has been
stopped.
7.
The quarterback will
have 4 seconds to release the ball, before a sack is called and the
down is over.
8.
When a team scores a
touchdown, they may go for 1 extra point from the 3 yard line or 2
points from the 8 yard line.
9.
Scoring:
a.
Touchdown: 6
b.
Point after: 1 or 2
c.
Interception: 3
10.
Over time: If at the
end of regulation in pool play the game is tied, each team will get
1 possession to score from the 10 yard line. If the score is still
tied after both teams have had an offensive possession, then the
pool play game will end in a tie. During the elimination tournament,
if regulation ends in a tie, then both teams will take equal numbers
of alternating offensive possessions from the 10 yard line until one
team has outscored the other. In any overtime game—pool play or
elimination—teams must try for the extra point from the 8 yard line.
