2010

Practice will begin on the JV Baseball field.

Bring your RES card to the first practice.

You MUST have your RES card to participate and to be issued equipment.

Bring your signed Team Commitment Contract also.

 

After 10 hours of CIF required conditioning, you will be allowed to wear pads.

There is a CIF required minimum number of practices in pads

before you can scrimmage and participate in your first game.

ALL Players must clear through the Athletic Director's office.

This includes Academic Eligibility (minimum 2.0 GPA at DHS).

You must have a STAMPED and SIGNED card from the Athletic Director.

 

DHS T-shirts/practice jersey & shorts,

Helmet & mouth piece,

 Cleats & running shoes

 

Medical braces and preventive equipment should be worn.

Pack an extra T-shirt in your bag for weight lifting and chalk talk.

Hydration and proper diet are paramount.

Bring sufficient water.

 

FULL GEAR Practices

Full pads for those athletes completing required conditioning time.

Wednesday - August 11, 2010 is the 1st contact session in full pads for eligible players.

Ensure equipment is properly secured (face masks, shoulder pads,

football girdle or hip/tailbone pads and belt) prior to practice.

Bring extra water.

DHS Ram Football

2009

Football Conditioning Practice begins Aug. 17th 

ALL Players must clear through the athletic directors (AD) office to play football.

This includes Academic Eligibility (minimum 2.0 gpa)

 

 You MUST have the stamped & signed card from the AD’s office and present it to your coach

before you may practice.

No Card, No Practice!!

 

PRACTICE TIMES: Starting: August 17th practice each day 4-7pm, beginning Aug. 24th

the practice time will be 4-6:30pm

DRESS:       Players will be in DHS T-shirts/practice jersey & shorts, with helmet & mouth piece.

 BRING: Cleats, running shoes, and water bottle

Be prepared to work hard!!!

 

August 20th: All players who have completed 10 hours of conditioning will be in full gear

for Practice 5-7pm

 

CIF RULES state each player must complete 10 full practice days BEFORE they can participate

 in a contact scrimmage.

*Any player who misses ANY practice days after Aug. 20th, will NOT be allowed to play

in the preseason scrimmages: First scrimmage versus Woodland High Sept. 3rd at DHS

 

*Sept. 7th will be Labor Day & it is the first practice day of the week of the first game.

1 missed practice will be the loss of starting & 1 quarter of playing time,

2 missed practices: you will NOT play at all.

Conditioning test for football...

 

This is the test I would like all varsity players to perform before they can wear pads.

 

2x25 yards

2x50 yards

2x75 yards

2x100 yards

1x110 yards

2x120 yards

 

Times they have to be completed in is as follows

 

Offensive linemen              3:30  

Defensive linemen             3:10 

TE/LB/kickers                    2:50

RB/Safties/QB                   2:45

Corners/WR's                    2:40

 

 

Players will do conditioning with Coach Brad and not be practicing until they pass.
